Pray for the people of New Orleans
Most who could flee from Hurricane Katrina have done so. Around 30,000 of those who couldn't make it out are seeking refuge in the Louisiana Superdome tonight.
To paraphrase William Whiting's Navy hymn:
Eternal Father, strong to save,
whose arm hath bound the restless wave,
who bidd'st the mighty ocean deep
its own appointed limits keep:
O hear us when we cry to thee
for those in peril from the sea. Amen.
