It was exhausting, but exhilarating. There were 32 Michaelites and 50 of us altogether. Matins and Solemn High Mass started each morning. That was followed by three hours of classes each day, fun activities in the afternoon, clergy talks and dinner and discussion groups after Evensong, and a community activity and compline to close the day. For the closing Saturday, the Michaelites put on a pageant showing the story of salvation.
Next year's conference will again be held at Camp Crucis on June 24-30. Register early. More information can be found at the official website. Below are pictures from the 2006 SouthWest Conference.
Dear Father -- it certainly sounds like a MOST successful week! All the St. Timothy boys wanted to serve at the Solemn Mass yesterday -- not just the ones who were scheduled -- they were all excitedly clamoring in the sacristy, eager to serve Mass after being so infused during their time with you and the other clergy. So I had TWO thurifers and SIX torchbearers for Trinity Sunday-- all in all 13 on the altar instead of the usual 9! Great pictures by the way! Well done!!!!
Thank you for your kind words. It's great to hear that. You've got some great kids in your parish.
I'm sure the success of the conference had alot to do with those who weren't there--those on the outside offering up their prayers and words of encouragement.

And now, the work continues.
I should also note how inspiring it was for so many young people (and adults) to make their confession during the conference--some for the first time.
