This week, parishioners and others have been decorating St Alban's for Christmas. I think all that is left is for the purple altar frontal and banner to be replaced by the white ones after the morning Mass this Sunday.
Seeing this picutre raises a question for me: I wonder how many Episcopal churches have a crucifix with a corpus on it.
This one at St. Albans is fairly sanitized - no blood or gore as in many RC churches - and looks to be fully clothed.
Still, lovely as it is, it seems to me unusual to have a corpus on the crucifix in an Episcopal church.
I'm not expecting an answer, Timothy, just asking questions out loud as I congratulate your Altar Guild on a lovely, lovely presentation for the Nativity of our Lord.
Ok, shame on you....you're making me feel bad about visiting family in Mississippi for Christmas instead of coming to St. Alban's.

Merry Christmas and Blessed New Year!
Maybe it will still be Christmas when you get back.
ReplyDeleteThe church sanctuary is beautiful. Truly.
