We are diminished

The opening lines of Bishop Iker's sermon at the requiem Mass for Father John H. Heidt put it well. I know I will miss his company and his lively and thoughtful input any discussion. May he rest in peace.

May God rest Canon Heidt's soul
and comfort and strengthen his
family.
I thank Canon Heidt for giving me
a piece of chalk to write above my
doorway seeking a blessing for my
family and I now do it every year.
I hope the chalk doesn't run out,
afterall, it is "holy" chalk!
