Making progress toward the gold

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
I've been making a little bit of headway on my gold dalmatic and tunic as a part of the Pugin inspired set that I'm working on. Progress is slow. I bought the material about 8 or 9 years ago. I finished the chasuble earlier, which can be viewed here. I don't have enough material for a cope and humeral veil (nor the money to buy the material), so that will have to wait for now.

What beautiful vestments!! Are you using a pattern? Do you have a pattern? Where did you purchase the fabric? A lot of questions, but I am interested in making my own vestments as well.

The gold fabric comes from LaLame, Inc in New York. You can order their catalog. They have a website (lalame.com) but you cannot currently order things online.

The red fabric comes from www.easternchristiansupply.biz and the blue fabric and galloon comes from www.istok.net.

I made the patterns myself, but used existing vestments to get started. The Dalmatic and Tunic will have the "mudflap" version of sleeves. I also put tassles on there from Hobby Lobby.

I am always amazed at the talent you have with a sewing machine. God has truly blessed you.

I do find it amusing, however, that you purchase all these pretty fabrics from fancy suppliers but the tassels come from Hobby Lobby. Not that it's bad, it is just kind of funny.

Thank you Father.

Hey, Father, how much would you need to finish the whole set - Cope, humeral veil and all? Maybe we could solicit a donation to see the project finished? Maybe we could borrow it for St. Michael's Conference?
