My favorite winter games

Here is a little slideshow of my favorite events in the Winter Olympics. Downkill skiing is the only one I've done personally (though certainly not at 80 mph). I'd love to go curling sometime.

From ZNIT Ctaholic News Service:

VATICAN CITY, FEB. 12, 2006 - Benedict XVI expressed his hope that the Winter Olympics, which opened Friday in Turin, will foster "peace among peoples."

After praying the midday Angelus from the window of his study today, the Pope greeted "the organizers and officials of the International Olympic Committee and all athletes who have come from all parts of the world."

He added: "I hope this beautiful sports competition will be characterized by the Olympic values of loyalty, joy and fraternity, thus offering a contribution to peace among peoples."
